Records Updated – SF Results & Scorers Since 1940

We’ve updated our Senior Football Results and Scorers records with 15 more years added from 1940 onwards.

Where we’ve been able to find recorded scorers (not always the case in earlier years) we’ve included them.

Oh, and we’ve fought against the urge never to record last Sunday’s debacle in Tullamore.

All Our Records Updated for 2018 League Campaign

It will go down in history as only the second pointless campaign for the footballers since the four division structure was brought in (the Division One campaign of 1980/81 being the other one). Despite that we’ve updated our records which now show: All of Kildare’s results & scorers back to February 1956 here Line-Ups … Read moreAll Our Records Updated for 2018 League Campaign

Kerry 0-19 Kildare 0-14: Lilies Flunk Test Despite Flynn Masterclass

Kerry 0-19 Kildare 0-14 (NFL Div 1, Tralee, 17 March 2018) While the spirit was better, the outcome was familiar. Kildare will play Division Two football again next year and that’s their rightful level on all evidence this spring. Six games is a long enough examination of a team’s credentials and the Lilywhites have now … Read moreKerry 0-19 Kildare 0-14: Lilies Flunk Test Despite Flynn Masterclass

Donegal 1-15 Kildare 3-7: Lilies Down In the Mouth in Ballyshannon

Donegal 1-15 Kildare 3-7 (NFL Div 1, Ballyshannon, 25 February 2018)     We’d like to focus on the football. Really like to. But for the second week in a row a refereeing decision must take centre stage. Before we get to it let’s be clear though. Fourteen-man Kildare could and possibly should have won … Read moreDonegal 1-15 Kildare 3-7: Lilies Down In the Mouth in Ballyshannon

Kildare 0-18 Tyrone 1-16: It’s Advantage Tyrone as Kildare Face Relegation Battle

Kildare 0-18 Tyrone 1-16 (NFL Div 1, Newbridge, 11 February 2018) Let’s get the same old failings out of the way first. Because however unfathomable the referee’s amnesia regarding the advantage rule may have been, however frustrating, Kildare players can look no further than themselves. The old failings. Missed opportunities at crucial times. Weakness in … Read moreKildare 0-18 Tyrone 1-16: It’s Advantage Tyrone as Kildare Face Relegation Battle

Kildare 0-12 Monaghan 1-10: Guest Contributor “White Bridge” on Another Lesson for Lilywhites

With thanks to Guest Contributor “White Bridge”, thoughts on Kildare v Monaghan: After the first round of the league and another reverse against the unstoppable machine that is Dublin we all spoke about lessons being learnt or not and were we really getting closer to them? Division 1 was always going to provide lessons and … Read moreKildare 0-12 Monaghan 1-10: Guest Contributor “White Bridge” on Another Lesson for Lilywhites

The Lessons Continue for Kildare Team and Management

Kildare 2-10 Dublin 2-17 (National Football League Division One, Croke Park) So where does that leave us? It’s common in the modern media to take the “5 Things We Learned…” approach to these things. But frankly it’s not really about what we the supporters learn from occasions like last night. It’s about what Cian O’Neill … Read moreThe Lessons Continue for Kildare Team and Management

Don’t Panic, Don’t Panic !! – Longford Too Good for Mis-Firing Lilies

Longford 1-14 Kildare 0-13 (O’Byrne Cup, Pearse Park, Longford) In the words of Lance Corporal Jones… DON’T PANIC, DON’T PANIC !! We’ve allowed ourselves to get too carried away with O’Byrne Cup success in recent years and there’s clearly no correlation between results in January and those down the line. About 600 hardy souls paid … Read moreDon’t Panic, Don’t Panic !! – Longford Too Good for Mis-Firing Lilies
