It took them a while to get into their stride, but Kildare’s senior hurlers turned up the heat in the second half at a cold, blustery St Conleth’s Park to overrun previously unbeaten Derry in round 3 of the Christy Ring Cup this afternoon.

Barring two unlikely reversals against Wicklow and Sligo, it was a win that should secure a place in the final for David Herity’s side, who have been sweeping all before them in the competition to date.
